Exponents
Exponents are smaller numbers above a number. This is 10 to the power of 4. To solve this you have to do 10 times 10 times 10 times 10. When you have powers of ten, the exponent is the number of zeros in your final answer. The exponent is 4 so there is 4 zeros. The answer is 10,000.

Sometimes your number won’t be 10. It can be any number, such as 4,5,3,6,7,8,1, and so on. For example your exponent could be 3 to the power of 5. You would do 3 times 3 times 3 times 3 times 3. This would equal 243.
