Optimism and Reality

Do you think there is a fine line between optimism and reality? What is optimism anyway? Well, for starters, optimism is the feeling that what you hope for will happen or the belief that all will go right. On the other hand, reality is the quality or state of being real.

I think being optimistic and reality are very different. For example, if you are optimistic about winning the lottery, You could lose most of your money and still not win.

Back to the first definition of optimism, the feeling that what you hope for will happen, you shouldn’t be too hopeful. You also shouldn’t think that everything you want happens. You don’t always get what you want. But maybe if you think good things good things will happen.

Anyways, there might be some things you are optimistic about and want to turn in reality. For instance, sports and instruments. For me, these things are learning French, playing the piano, and becoming a doctor.

I remember when I moved here I was very optimistic. Until….. I realized that I would never see my friends again. I was also very optimistic about starting 1st grade. I had no friends until a month later. But, turns out 1st grade is harder than Kindergarten! I was really bummed about that.

Don’t get me wrong, being optimistic is GOOD. As Helen Keller once said, “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” But optimism and reality………. Two different things. So…… Is there a fine line between optimism and reality? According to me yes! I’ll leave the rest to you!

Be sure to smile! Thank You! 🙂
